Liverpool made it 2-0 down to a triple win over West
Ham United in the 27th Premier League round, in the
match at Anfield.
Liverpool raised its score to point 79 at the top of the
Premier League standings after achieving the 26th
victory this season, 22 points behind second-placed
Manchester City, while West Ham United’s balance at
point 24 in 18th place was frozen and threatened with
relegation.
Liverpool trio Gorgeno Vinaldom, Mohamed Salah, and
Sadio Mane scored, while West Ham duo scored Essa
Diop and Pablo Fornals.
Liverpool started the match strongly and scored the first
goal in the 9th minute with a header from the Dutchman
Vennaldum after a superb cross by Alex Arnold, to
respond West Ham quickly and score the equalizer in
the 12th minute with a header from defender Issa Diop
after a corner kick.
With the start of the second half, West Ham surprised the
hosts with a second goal in the 54th minute with a shot
from Fornales from inside the penalty area.
With constant pressure on West Ham’s defense, the
Egyptian star Mohamed Salah scored in the second goal
with a shot from inside the penalty area after a cross by
Andrew Robertson, goalkeeper Lucas Fabianski failed to
tackle it.
Liverpool continued to press Sadio Mane to score the
winning goal in the 81st minute, after a great start from
the right-back Arnold, who sent a cross that the
Senegalese star met with putting the ball into the net.
