Despite Microsoft’s clear directions towards the future of
the gaming industry, towards cloud computing and
services, but the leader of the Microsoft Xbox division,
Phil Spencer, still believes that the actual gaming
devices will continue for years to come, according to a
new interview:
I think that entering a world does not require a single
gaming device to fight specific games is a good thing for
the industry, this does not mean that having a device with
these features is not part of the experience, I think I will
still have a specialized gaming device linked to the
screen for the next ten years and more, the best way to
play games on the screen It is in the presence of a
specialized device, but sometimes I am not in front of a
screen, I am not in front of a specialized gaming device,
and here is our bet on cloud computing. For us when
everyone plays everyone is a winner and we mean that
completely.
