Casemiro scored from a header, as Karim Benzema scored in stoppage time, as Real Madrid beat
stubborn Granada 2-0 on Wednesday.
With this victory, Real Madrid achieves its fifth successive victory in the Spanish Premier League,
and is level on points with leaders Atletico Madrid.
The defending champion missed his luster in the first half, but was active in the second half, and created
many chances, and Brazilian midfielder Casemiro turned his head into Marco Asensio’s cross pass into
the net after a wonderful rise in the 57th minute.
Real Madrid were lucky to avoid a goal in the first minute, when defender Raphael Varane made a mistake
in passing, and Roberto Soldado passed to Antonio Puertas, who fired over the crossbar.
Granada continued to cause problems for Zinedine Zidane’s team in the second half, even as Benzema secured the victory with a low shot.
