The Spanish El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid
ended with the latter winning 3-1, for the seventh round of
the Spanish Football League.
The goals of the royal club were scored by Federico Valverde
in the fifth minute, Sergio Ramos in the 63rd minute from a
penalty kick, and Luca Modric in the 89th minute.
Barcelona’s only goal in the match, which was played without
fans on the floor of “Camp Nou”, was from Ansu Fati’s feet
in the 8th minute.
After the victory, Real Madrid had 13 points in the balance,
thus occupying first place, while Lionel Messi’s companions
stuck in 7 points in tenth place.
The Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, was under pressure,
especially after his first defeat at home in the League last
Saturday by newly promoted Cadiz 1-0, and then the second
loss on Wednesday in the Champions League against Shakhtar
Donetsk 3-2.
Saturday’s Clasico is a precedent in the history of LaLiga, as it
was held for the first time behind closed doors, due to measures
to limit the outbreak of the new Coronavirus.
