Arsenal reached an agreement with his Spanish counterpart, Real Madrid, to borrow Norwegian playmaker
Martin Odegaard until the end of the current season.
The British newspaper “The Times” said that the deal is imminent after 3 days of negotiations between
the two clubs, but it does not include the possibility of buying the player completely, which means his return
to the “Santiago Bernabeu” next summer.
The 22-year-old will move from Real Madrid to Arsenal hoping to play for longer minutes, knowing that
the London club will pay two million euros to complete the deal, in addition to 800,000 euros that is part
of Odegaard’s wage until the end of the season.
Edwegaard failed to obtain the confidence of the coach of the royal team, Zinedine Zidane, after returning
from a series of loans to Heerenveen and Vitis in the Netherlands and Real Sociedad of Spain.
Sociedad was seeking to restore Odegaard, who was also wanted in Ajax Amsterdam, but Arsenal made
the best offer for Real Madrid, according to the Spanish sports newspaper, Marca.
