Red Devils coach: Put the anger aside
Manchester United coach Eric Ten Hag called on his players to put
their anger aside, after canceling a day off that was scheduled for them,
ahead of the upcoming summit against Liverpool.
The new coach of Manchester United summoned the team’s players
to additional training in light of the intense heat on Sunday, according to
what the newspaper “The Sun” reported, Monday, and the newspaper
described the training as “strict”.
The newspaper said that the sudden training was a kind of punishment for
the players’ poor performance in the first two rounds of the English Premier League.
Players on the team expressed their anger at the decision.
The coach’s decision came after the team’s humiliating defeat against Brentford Club 0-4, last week.
It is scheduled to face Manchester club Liverpool in an early summit in
the English Premier League later on Monday.
The two teams are suffering from a faltering start, as the “Red Devils” lost
the first two games, while Liverpool drew in them.
“I hope they’re angry, but angry at themselves, angry at each other,
because they didn’t take responsibility,” Ten Hag said, asking them to let go of their anger.
He urged them to reverse the situation the team has reached this season.
He revealed that he decided to take the penalty against the players in
the first half of the match in which his team lost against Brentford,
which made the “Red Devils” ranked 19th in the English Premier League.
“I made the decision during the match, when I watched the performance,” said Ten Hag.
He added: “This is not the standard of Manchester United, nor mine,
and we had to change that.”
