Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo scored a double for his team, Juventus, against Udinese in the 15th stage
of the Italian league, on Sunday, to set a record by reaching goal number 758 in his career, and exceeding
Pele’s number has more than one record in history during official matches.
Ronaldo scored two goals in the 31st and 70th minutes, in the match that ended with Juventus’ 4-1 victory
over Udinese.
Ronaldo scored with these two goals to 758 goals, which he scored during his twenty-year footballing career,
during which he played for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and the Portuguese
national team.
And according to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, Ronaldo surpassed the number that recorded in
the name of the Brazilian legend Pele (757 goals), and is behind the goal record by the Austrian-Czech player Joseph
Pican, which the Spanish “Marca” says is limited. There are 759 goals, while other sources raise it to about 766,
which means that Ronaldo is close, in any case, to surpassing the historical figure.
In addition to his new record, Ronaldo this year has achieved an achievement on social media, with his Instagram
account reaching 250 million followers.
The site “90min” said that the star of the Portuguese national team and Italian Juventus became the first person
to reach this number on the Instagram platform owned by Facebook.
It is noteworthy that Ronaldo, aged 35, is also the most followed person on Facebook, and the most-followed athlete
on Twitter.
