European champions and defending champions Portugal were
unaffected by the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, as they beat
Croatia 4-1 in the European Championship on Saturday.
Ronaldo, who scored 99 international goals in his career and
dreamed of scoring the 100th goal, was absent due to an
infection in his toes, while Croatia lacked the efforts of Luka
Modric and Ivan Rakitic after the National Federation decided
not to summon them before the start of the European season.
It was the first time that Ronaldo missed a match for Portugal
since November 2018.
But the absence of the “Don” did not go unnoticed after he was
chased by lenses even in the stands, and the media reported a
funny scene that he gathered with a girl from the organizers of
the match, which was hosted by the “Dragão” stadium in
the Portuguese capital Lisbon.
While the Juventus star was sitting relaxed following the
sweeping victory of his country, the girl approached him,
bowed quietly, and directed him to a request he did not know
at first glance.
But Ronaldo’s reaction quickly clarified what the girl said,
who turned out to have asked him to wear a face mask to
prevent coronavirus.
The footage showed that all those sitting around Ronaldo were
already committed to wearing the muzzle, except for the
“Madeira missile”, who may have forgotten to put it, or ignored
the matter, or considered that what applies to everyone does not
apply to him ..!
But Ronaldo complied immediately, putting on the muzzle, even
if he did not seem happy with the incident or the girl’s request.
