Ronaldo’s fate is getting more ambiguous, the latest of which is the Thailand and Australia tour
A source in Manchester United said on Thursday that striker Cristiano Ronaldo
will not travel with the team on a pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia after
taking a break to finish some family matters.
The future of the 37-year-old Portuguese star at Old Trafford has become a source
of great speculation after it was reported that he had informed the club of his desire
to leave to play in the Champions League next season.
But the source confirmed that the Portuguese international, who has a year left on his
contract, is not for sale.
United will begin its foreign tour against Liverpool in Bangkok on July 12 before facing
Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace, and will also play with Aston Villa in Perth on July 23.
It is not yet clear when Ronaldo will return to the squad.
Ronaldo scored 24 goals in all competitions with United last season to finish sixth in
the league and fail to qualify for the Champions League.
The new season will start at home against Brighton on August 7, in the first official match
for new coach Eric Ten Hag.
