Former Real Madrid president Lorenzo Sanz died on
Saturday of 76 years of infection with the emerging
Corona virus, according to his son.
“My father just passed away. He did not deserve this
ending in this way. One of the kindest, bravest and most
serious people I have ever seen is leaving. His family and
Real Madrid were his passion. My mother and my
brothers enjoyed all their moments with him proudly,”
Lorenzo Jr. said on his Twitter account.
Sanz, the former owner of Malaga club, headed Real
Madrid between 1995 and 2000 and in his state he won
the Champions League title in 1998 and 2000 after a long
fast since 1966, before Florentino Perez replaced him.
The “Royal” squad included the likes of Brazilian
Roberto Carlos, Croatian Davor Schucker, Dutchman
Clarence Seedorf and Montenegro Predrag Mijatovic.
Last Tuesday, Sanz was taken to hospital after his fever,
and was then placed in intensive care after he was
infected with the “Covid-19” virus.
His son Lorenzo revealed this week that, in addition to
his respiratory system deficiency, he suffers from a
kidney deficiency due to major inflammation.
