Salah and 2011 Dream Maybe Achieved Soon
More than 10 years ago, Mohamed Salah was playing for the Arab contractors team, looking for a door out of the
Egyptian league to “realize his dream” as he put it.
The first to open this door was English club Newcastle United, which was considered an offer to include Salah in
2011, according to the player’s statements at the time to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram.
The “junior player” said at the time: “Newcastle will soon make an official offer to sign me for one season.
I don’t think contractors will refuse to let me play in the Premier League. ”
Salah added: “It is a dream for any player to play in one of the strongest league competitions in the world.
I want to play outside. I think this will be my next step “.
Although Newcastle’s plan was incomplete at the time, with Salah heading to Switzerland’s Basel in 2012 and then
starting his sparkling trip to England’s Liverpool in 2017, the player’s accession to Newcastle is very prevalent
within months.
So far, Liverpool and Salah have not reached an agreement on the renewal of the contract, which means that the
Egyptian player may leave the Reds for free next summer.
Salah’s contract with the Premier League runners-up lasts until June 2023, but the parties have been unsuccessful
in reaching an agreement despite the start of negotiations on an extension months ago.
Salah, who completes 30 years after two weeks, is eager to stay in the Premier League, even if he does not renew
his contract with Liverpool.
If Salah decides to disengage with Liverpool and stay in England, there will be several clubs willing to include him,
one of them being Newcastle who will be able to negotiate with the player next January.
Newcastle is seeking investment from the new Saudi administration to support the team with new stars,
with the aim of contesting the Premier League title in the coming seasons, and has already linked several
reports between him and Salah.
