On Wednesday, Liverpool announced Egyptian star Mohamed Salah as the team’s player of the season.
According to the official Reds website, supporters of the team, Forever Reds and the club’s former players’
association voted on Salah as “Liverpool’s best player this season 2021/2022.”
Salah, who scored 31 goals and provided 15 assists in all competitions, outscored goalkeeper Alison Becker in the
poll.
It is the latest award received by Mohamed Salah, 29, after being named England’s Player of the Year during the
annual vote of the Football Critics Association.
Mo Salah also received the Golden Boot Award after finishing the season at the top of the Premier League scorers
with 23 goals.
According to Liverpool, Salah reached 31 goals in one season for the third time in his Anfield career,
becoming the fourth player in the club’s history to achieve this achievement.
He added: “He has also risen to ninth place on the list of Liverpool’s top scorers in history, with a total
of 156 goals from 254 games to date.”
