Sony Pumps Large Quantities of PlayStation5 to Global Markets
As Sony spoke about breaking down the obstacles and challenges to producing the required quantities of
PlayStation 5 in global markets, the company began today by pumping large quantities into global markets,
which in turn began receiving bookings early in the day.
As disclosed by the department of several retailers, it has started to receive large quantities of the device that
will reach more than 3,000 authorized distributors around the world in the next few hours.
Some stores such as Amazon, GAMES and others have already started rolling out the device to book
in preparation for the start of shipping to the consumer during the coming hours.
Some stores have announced the availability of the device through unformal packages that include an extra
game or console with a slightly high price tag
The move comes more than a month after the interruption of the provision of the PlayStation 5 device in
global retailers, with Sony recently announcing that due to the continued deficit in the supply of chips and
semiconductors, Hail is preventing the payment of the device’s sales in the markets despite high and
unprecedented demand.
Sony promised to increase the production of the PlayStation 5 during the current fiscal year, which began
on April 1, by collaborating with new partners and securing fast shipping.
The company acknowledged that it was seeking to sell more than 18 million units until 31 March 2023.
Sony made a spectacular comparison in a recent presentation on the future of the PlayStation brand
and the current status of home appliances sales.
In the United States, at this point in the life cycle of the current PlayStation devices,
PlayStation 4 sold more than 80,000 units in 9 days. The PlayStation 5 sold more than 80,000 units
in about 82 minutes.
This means that 6 PlayStation 4 devices are sold almost per minute, while 1,000 PlayStation 5 devices
are sold per minute. Sony also reviewed a graph on “buying interest” for PlayStation devices
one year after launch where PlayStation 4 has 28% and while PlayStation 5 has 55%.
The Arab market is also still hungry for the availability of the PlayStation 5 device in the local market,
and we hope that it will have an appropriate share of the new quantities that started today to reach the markets.
