Samsung is seeking to grab a share in the mobile phone market
from Huawei, by launching the latest version of its Galaxy S
phones ahead of its upcoming launch date.
Three sources familiar with the matter told “Reuters”, “Samsung”
may launch the “Galaxy S21” more than a month earlier than expected.
The sources, who asked not to be identified because the plan is
not public, indicated that “Samsung” is preparing to launch its
new “Galaxy S21” phone in late January of next year.
The Chinese company “Huawei” is facing a difficult situation
due to the restrictions imposed by the United States, which
suffocate its supply of chips used in smart phones and communication devices.
South Korean chipmakers are hoping that Joe Biden’s
presidency of the United States will ease some of these
restrictions despite their skepticism, because they also expect
the next US administration to continue to take a hard-line
stance toward China.
