The Uruguayan star, Luis Suarez, broke a record for his former
Barcelona teammate, Lionel Messi, during his team’s match
against his host Celta Vigo (2-0) on Saturday night, in the sixth
round of the Spanish League.
Luis Suarez scored the first goal for his team,
“Al-Rukhi Blancos”, early in the sixth minute of the start of the
whistle. His Belgian teammate, Yannick Ferreira Carrasco,
scored the second safety goal, when the match was taking its
last breath, at the “Pallaidos” stadium in Vigo.
Suarez reached the 150th goal in the Spanish League, becoming
the second-fastest player to reach this figure in the competition
in the 21st century, after Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, the
former Real Madrid player and the current Italian Juventus.
Ronaldo scored 150 goals in 140 games, while Suarez scored
150 goals in 195 games, surpassing Messi, who scored the same
number of goals in 203 games.
