With the return of Uruguayan star Luis Suarez to “Camp Nou”
after recovering from injury, many questions are being asked
within the Barcelona club papers about his fate if the Argentine
star Laotaro Martinez is contracted from Inter Milan.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, reports from Italy
that Inter will not be able to pay a salary comparable to the offer
of the Catalans, which increases Lataro’s appetite to move to
Barcelona next summer.
In the event of the arrival of the young star, Suarez’s fate will be
ambiguous, whether he will continue to play for the Catalan
team for one or more seasons, or perhaps he will have to leave
in order to ensure playing essentially with another European
team.
But the Corona pandemic, which affected the major European
leagues, will further complicate matters and obscure them when
the transfer market begins, and thus the ability of clubs to buy
players in light of expected financial losses that may result from
the epidemic.
The Spanish newspaper believes that only time will be possible
to answer these questions.
Suarez had undergone surgery on the left knee on January 12th,
and he was estimated to be out of action for a period of up to
4 months.
The player is close to completing the treatment program, but the
technical and medical staff in Barcelona does not want to risk
anything during the current period.
The Catalan team hopes that Suarez will participate with the
team as soon as the La Liga competition returns in June.
Despite Suarez’s absence due to injury this season, he has scored
14 goals in all competitions, 11 of them in the Spanish League.
