Take Two Company Cooperates With FIFA
After FIFA’s separation from EA was announced, licenses for the game became available
for purchase or cooperation with any other party, will Take Two be able to obtain them?
Take Two yesterday presented its third quarter of financial results during a meeting with investors,
where it was in the meeting of course its director Strauss Zelnick who spoke about many things
such as the Red Dead Redemption 2 support mechanism and plan among others.
Zelnik also commented on the prospect of his company cooperating with the FIFA International Football Association
in order to own the title licenses owned by the Federation, as it is an opportunity to expand further in the field of
sports in his company, to you what he said during an interview with IGN this morning:
We certainly interested in expanding our opportunities in sport, and FIFA has a great brand and amazing influence but we have no current plans for discussion.
Through Zelnik’s statement, we conclude that the company not currently interested in obtaining FIFA licenses,
while leaving the door open to further speculation in the future, as Take Two is one of the few companies that can
handle those licenses and afford them, offsetting the cost from players’ pockets.
EA announced several days ago that FIFA 23 would be the last title to be published with the license of the
International Cod Football Federation, after which it would become the name of its game EA Sports FC
and that would mean the continuity of its interest in sports.
In your opinion, who is the most suitable company to obtain such licenses through cooperation with FIFA
after the withdrawal of EA?
