In a long professional career that began in 1999, Lazio became
the eighth destination for veteran Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina,
as the Italian club announced the inclusion of him from local rival Milan.
The 38-year-old joined Milan in 2018 after 3 seasons with Napoli,
but has only played 13 games.
Reina played last season on loan with Aston Villa, and is expected to be
a substitute for Albanian goalkeeper Thomas Strakocha in Lazio.
“I am happy to have joined him, he has an amazing experience.
He is one of the best goalkeepers in history and he will help me
develop,” said Strakusha.
Reina, who participated in 36 matches with Spain and won the
2010 World Cup title, played 8 seasons with Liverpool, where
he won the Golden Glove award for more than one who kept
clean sheets in the first 3 seasons with the team.
Reina was famous for his frequent transfers in his career, as he
experimented with 7 different teams: Barcelona and Villarreal in
Spain, Liverpool and Aston Villa in England, Milan and Naples,
the Italians, as well as Bayern Munich.
