Brighton & Hove Albion, owner of Brighton & Hove
Albion has been told by British media that no Premier
League soccer team will be relegated if more matches are
not held due to the Coronavirus.
The Premier League clubs met on Friday to discuss
possible options for completing the league, but all these
suggestions will remain hypothetical after the British
government decided to extend the measures of public
isolation due to the Coronavirus for another three weeks.
And nine rounds before the end, Brighton were two
points ahead of the relegation zone, while the
competition had stopped since March 13.
If the season ends on the current situation, Liverpool may
be crowned the title, while Norwich City, Aston Villa
and Bournemouth is relegated.
The downturn causes a financial blow of about $ 100
million, so Bloom believes it is unlikely that 70 percent
of the clubs, as the regulation says, will be allowed to
drop the three teams.
“It will be difficult to land any team, especially in the
English Premier League, if the season is not completed,”
Bloom said.
He added: “Maybe the champion will be decided.
Indeed, Liverpool deserves it, and this may be used to
determine the teams that qualify for Europe, but I do not
expect anyone to vote on that (to settle the decline),
especially taking into account the required percentage.”
Because some teams have several
matches that differ from other teams, some suggested
that the final arrangement be decided by the average
points for each team in one game.
