The night of the “Champions seat” between the two giants of London
Away from the English Premier League title struggle, Thursday night witnesses a real summit to
qualify for the Champions League, between the two poles of London, Arsenal and Tottenham.
Tottenham hosts its London rivals, in a play-off match, as a final for the two teams, who are seeking
to reach the biggest tournament, the European Champions League.
Arsenal is currently fourth, 4 points behind Tottenham, so the victory of the “gunners” will mean their
official qualification for the Champions League next season, after the absence of 4 seasons.
As for Tottenham, they have no alternative but to win, reduce the difference to one point behind Arsenal,
and enhance their chances by snatching fourth place in the remaining two league matches after Thursday night.
Tottenham will face Burnley and Norwich in their last two league matches, while Arsenal will face Newcastle
and Everton, which means that Spurs’ path is easier, and the percentage of winning two wins is higher than
the “Gunners”.
South Korean star Heung Min Son is also seeking to catch up with the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the top
scorer in the league, and achieve the “Golden Boot” for the first time in its history.
The Egyptian star is top scorer with 22 goals, and behind him is the Korean star with 20 goals, who seeks
to be the first Asian to achieve the title of top scorer in the English Premier League throughout history.
The North London Derby will kick off this Thursday evening, at the “architectural masterpiece” of
the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
