A Manchester United penalty kick was canceled, as the summit match against Manchester City
ended with a disappointing goalless draw in Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.
Man United got a penalty kick in the 48th minute, when Kyle Walker, City defender, kicked Marcus Rashford,
the United striker, into the area.
But the video-assisted referee (VAR) overturned the referee’s decision and indicated the United striker was
in an offside position.
City did not create few chances until this moment, as David De Gea blocked Algerian Riyad Mahrez’s shot in
the 35th minute and Kevin de Bruyne did not take advantage of the ball that bounced off the goalkeeper.
United’s best chances were in the 54th minute when Paul Pogba passed Rushford on the left, but the striker
slipped and fired a wide shot.
Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is seventh with 20 points, while City is one point behind them after 11 games.
