The Fatal Frame series of the company Tecmo (before
merging with Koei) started its life cycle on the Sony
PlayStation 2, then moved to the Wii with Nintendo
obtaining the copyrights of the series games, the last
version of this terrifying series was on the Wii U and
failed commercially as is The case with many games of
that device. Producer of the series Keisuke Kikuchi
talked about the possibility of returning again like a
transfer on the switch by issuing the second and fourth
parts on the platform, and unfortunately the tone does
not seem optimistic:
I have to admit that there is a gap between my personal
feelings and my ambitions about this and the possibility
of achieving this on the ground.
As for the second and fourth Fatal Frame parts, copyright
is with Nintendo, and we don’t have a say about that.
Another thing is that I currently supervise the Gust
brand right now, securing a product line and developers
will be tough in the near future. In the long run I have
never given up on the idea, but it doesn’t seem realistic at
the moment.
