A prominent Italian scientist specializing in
epidemiology confirmed the impossibility of resuming
the league’s activities in his country, with the attendance
of the masses at least before next October.
The Italian Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora has
revealed the possible initial date for the resumption of
the first-class football matches without fans.
“At the present time, the third of May may be a possible
date for resumption,” Spadafora said in previous
statements for “Ray 3”.
“I am not saying it is certain, and it is difficult to think of
holding matches in the presence of the fans,” added the
Italian Sports Minister.
But Pierluigi Lubalco, the Italian scientist who is very
popular internationally, made it clear in a television
interview that it is not possible to talk about holding
matches with a mass presence until the end of next
summer.
He continued, “I think it will be impossible to get people
back on the field before October,” according to the
sports website “Calcomercato”.
He added: “I expect preventive and precautionary
measures to continue until the summer at least, and after
that things can be evaluated, but calmly and cautiously.”
