Players of all La Liga clubs can start team training this week,
despite the severe restrictions on closures remaining in parts of
the country due to the pandemic of the newly born Coronavirus.
But cities like the capital Madrid and Barcelona, hardest hit by
Corona was not allowed to ease closures like most regions of
the country, while teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid were
given the green light to move to the second stage of the
training.
The Liga Organizing Committee said that all players can start
training in small groups, Monday, regardless of the stage of the
closure in their areas.
Until now, players were only allowed to train individually
through Spain.
The Spanish government is gradually loosening the restrictions,
which have been in effect since mid-March, due to the virus.
Teams in areas with strict restrictions will be allowed to have 10
players in training, while clubs in areas with fewer restrictions
can enroll up to 14 players.
It is also allowed to hold meetings between players and
technical bodies in some regions if the guidelines for social
separation remains in effect, and referees are now allowed to
train in sports facilities.
As for the next stage, the clubs will be allowed to start a full team
exercises, as clubs and players are required to follow strictly
health safety guidelines during training.
Players, club staff, and all participants in the exercises must be
tested for the virus.
Five players from teams in the first and second divisions were
found injured before the individual exercises resumed.
The League wants to resume the league on June 12 without an
audience, although the media is expected to be allowed to cover
matches from the stadiums, the latter has been unable to attend
the training sessions.
