European media revealed that Juventus was “just around
the corner” from winning the services of French coach
Zinedine Zidane before returning to take over Real
Madrid.
Real Madrid coach Zidane was close to coaching
Juventus in order to succeed Massimiliano Alegre, but
the stalled deal prevented “Zizou” moving to the Italian
league, where he had previously defended the colors of
Juve.
After several months that Zidane sued without coaching
any team, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez
decided to call the French coach in order to train
“Meringue” after the results deteriorated.
The “Royal Club” contract with Zinedine Zidane came
after the Real was eliminated from the Champions
League in the previous version by Ajax Amsterdam.
The newspaper “AS” quoted a French sports website that,
after the departure of Zinedine Zidane from Real Madrid,
the French coach could have had a training experience
with Juventus, the Italian.
The site indicated that Juve was close to reaching an
agreement with Zidane at the beginning of 2019, when
the Juventus administration felt that its cooperation with
Massimiliano Alegre was going to end with the end of
the season.
Things between Juventus and Zidane were close to
reaching the end, but in the end Real Madrid managed to
persuade the French coach to return.
