Liverpool have not hesitated to loan out German goalkeeper Loris Karius,
after his disastrous mistake in the Champions League final in the summer of 2018,
but the absence period of the “outcast” keeper is almost over,
and his return to the team is approaching,
exactly two years after the “disastrous match”.
Carrius was the main reason Liverpool lost the Champions League final, in 2018 in Kiev, to Real Madrid,
after he gave two goals to the royal team, with two naive mistakes,
considered by some the worst in the history of the Champions League Finals.
After his blundering error, which contributed to Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory,
Liverpool decided to loan the player to the Turkish Besiktas, for two years.
In Istanbul, Karius could not get past the “nightmares” of the Kiev final,
so he continued to offer a modest level,
which kept the Turkish club from activating the right to purchase in his contract,
which the club can activate after the loan ends.
According to the “Athletic” website, sources close to Karius said he was sure to return to Liverpool in the summer,
unless a new club entered the line to sign him before.
Since Carreo’s move, the Reds have signed two goalkeepers, Brazil and Alison Becker,
and Spain’s Adrian, which means that Carrius has no place in the European champions squad,
especially with Alison,
who was named the best goalkeeper in the world last season.
Liverpool managed to get past the “Kiev disaster” and won the Champions League last year,
led by goalkeeper Allison.
The return of Kairos to the Reds could constitute an unexpected “headache” for German coach Juergen Klopp,
who will have to return to the squad as a third goalkeeper,
or search for a club he wishes to sign, despite his decline.
