In a decision that surprised millions of his fans and
followers, boxing legend Mike Tyson announced that
he intended to return to the ring, where he would run
showcases for charitable purposes.
Tyson, 53, a former heavyweight world champion,
said he was undergoing extensive training to prepare
for 4 show games.
The last American boxer game dates back to June 2005,
when it lost to Kevin McBride.
Tyson said in a direct speech to his account on
“Instagram”, that he had already started training
sessions, adding: “I was training during the past week.
This was difficult. My body is hurting me from the
glove strikes.”
He continued: “I have been training and trying to get back
to the circuit. I think I will compete with anyone
in exhibition matches. I want to go to the gym and return
to the proper shape to play 3 or 4 games for charitable
purposes.”
Tyson revealed that he would allocate income to games
to help homeless people or drug victims, but he did not
specify a proposed date for his hostilities.
Tyson became the youngest world heavyweight
champion in 1986 when he was 20 and was an
an invincible hero until he lost to the Douglas Poster
in Tokyo in 1990.
Tyson spent 3 years in prison out of a six-year prison
sentence, after being convicted of rape in 1992, and then
returned to the circuit in 1995.
Tyson added more controversy about him when he
bounced part of the ear of his opponent, Evander
Holyfield, in a famous fight two years later.
