AAA is a rating that indicates that the game is being developed
with a huge budget and with a project that requires a long time
to develop. For many years this rating has been the symbol for
the largest projects in terms of size and that millions are spent
on developing them, but what about the AAAA rating?
The matter is not merely a written error, as many employees of
the French giant Ubisoft have added this classification to their
LinkedIn accounts, such as the art director of Beyond Good and
Evil 2 and the producer of the ship war game Skull & Bones,
and some of the company’s teams have referred to this
classification in their employment applications The latter such
as Ubisoft Berlin and Ubisoft Bordeaux.
What does this classification mean? Is Ubisoft working on
games with budgets and massive experiences never before seen
in the industry? Or is it a kind of exaggeration in describing
these games? The Ubisoft Forward event, which will be held on
September 10, may provide us with the answers to these questions.
