Upon the disclosure of the design of the Playstation 5,
players noticed that the device looks giant compared to
previous home Sony devices. One of the players asked
Matt MacLaurin, head of Sony’s user experience design
division, about the reason behind the size of the huge
device via his LinkedIn network.
The answer from Matt is that the ventilation and cooling
is the reason for this, the new generation devices are
supercomputing computers and although the 7nm
processors offer a great experience especially with the
cooling but the consuming power is very large,
the technology is very modern and therefore it needs
a lot of space for ventilation and cooling.
