A report by the Spanish newspaper AS said, on Monday, that
Barcelona’s Spanish striker, Uruguayan Luis Suarez, has started
communicating with the president of Italian club Juventus,
in preparation for his transfer to the “old lady” in the summer transfer season.
The new Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman, told Suarez that he
is not present in his future plans for the Catalan club.
“AS” quoted the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, that
Suarez and Juventus’ vice president, Pavel Nedved, had negotiated a
possible deal under which the Uruguayan striker would move to Turin this summer.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Suarez is “eager” to
conclude the deal, but “is waiting to see all the options available
to him,” while Juventus officials are keen to strengthen the
club’s offensive line in preparation for the start of the new
football season in Italy, especially after the expected departure
of Argentine Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus.
Juventus is not the only club seeking the services of Suarez, as it
is also competing with him for this player, the Dutch club Ajax
Amsterdam, as Marc Over Mars, the sports director of the Dutch
champions, has already expressed the club’s interest in joining the Uruguayan side.
