Cristiano Ronaldo has not and will not change, a fact that appears crystal
clear after he confirmed, Thursday, that he wants to “conquer
the world” and “break records.”
Statements confirming that the Portuguese star has not lost his
ambition and wants to compensate for the disappointment of
getting out of the price of the Champions League final against
Lyon, France, and clearly indicate that he will not leave Juventus soon,
according to what some claimed after the team was unable
to win the Champions League again.
On Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo wrote on his Instagram
account: “As I prepare for my third season as Bianconero
(a Juventus player), my spirit and ambition are at their highest levels.”
“Goals, victories, commitment, generosity and professionalism.
With all my strength and the precious help of my colleagues
and all the members of Juventus, we will all work to conquer
Italy again, Europe and the world and break records,” said the
35-year-old striker.
Since coming to Italy, Ronaldo has scored twice in the domestic
league, but has not crossed the quarter-finals threshold in the
Champions League, as he was eliminated in this role by Ajax
Amsterdam in 2019, before the current season’s disappointment against Lyon.
Ronaldo scored 37 goals this season in various competitions,
which is a record for a player from the “old lady”.
The former Real Madrid star added, “To do more and better …
to succeed in all the challenges that will face us. We will make
every year a better adventure than the previous one and win everything
for the fans. Let us be the bearers of this great edifice and the
unique adoration of this team and live up to its history.”
Juventus, who sacked coach Maurizio Sarri and appointed
former midfielder Andrea Pirlo, aims to win their tenth successive
league title and search for their first title in the Champions League since 1996.
