French coach Zinedine Zidane was unable to conceal his
feeling of sorrow after his team suffered a sudden fall,
Sunday, against Real Betis in the twenty-seventh round
of the Spanish first division championship.
Real Madrid failed to take advantage of the momentum
of winning the El Clásico match in the last round, and
lost 1-2 in the hospitality of Real Betis, to guide
Barcelona’s rivals to the top of the league.
Real Madrid’s balance stuck at 56 points from 27 games,
two points behind leaders Barcelona, who won 1-0
against Real Sociedad on Saturday, to regain the summit,
after one week of zero-2 loss at the Santiago Bernabeu
stadium.
After the match, Zidane spoke forcefully, criticizing his
team’s performance in the match.
Zizou said in his remarks quoted by the newspaper “AS”
about an interview with “Movistar Plus”: “It was a bad
match on our part, we did not perform well in the first
half or the second, we made many mistakes and lost the

But the French coach did not explain why the team was
unable to “change things,” saying only: “There is no
justification or explanation for what happened, there is
nothing specific to talk about.”
And about the team’s chances of winning the absent
league title since 2017, he said, “There are still 11 games
remaining and we will fight for the title. What happened
