Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane revealed, on Wednesday,
that his player Eden Hazard is upset and sad, after suffering
a new muscle injury.
The Belgian striker joined Real Madrid from Chelsea last season
for 100 million euros ($ 117 million).
But he did not leave his mark with the team after suffering two
ankle injuries, and only participated in the starting line-up
during 14 league matches, and scored one goal last season.
Hazard was preparing to participate in his first match of the
season against Real Valladolid, on Wednesday, after he was
absent from the preparation period and confronted Real Sociedad
and Real Betis for lack of fitness.
However, he suffered a right leg injury to miss the 1-0 win over
Valladolid, and Spanish media said he would be away for a
period of 3 to 4 weeks.
Zidane said, “He (Hazard) is definitely upset because he was in
good shape before the match and we were happy with him, and
he was happy too, but he had an injury in training, which can
happen when you don’t play for a while.
“He is sad, but he knows that it is not a serious injury, and we
must keep calm and he will not be absent for a long time, but
I do not know for how long,” according to “Reuters”.
Hazard will miss the trip to Levante, as well as the Belgium
national team’s friendly match against Cote d’Ivoire, and
England and Iceland in the European Nations League matches.
There is also a possibility that he will be absent from meeting
Cadiz after the international break, and for Barcelona’s “battle”
on October 25th.
