After Zinedine Zidane, the coach of Real Madrid,
defeated Meringue from Manchester City, stressing that
the players were not affected by this loss.
The Royal Club lost 2-1 to Manchester City at the
Santiago Bernabeu, in the first leg of the Champions
League final.
Zidane spoke about the feelings of the players’ room in
statements after the match, saying: “They are annoyed
with the loss but we know that the match is 180 minutes,
and what happens but it is like this, even if we
won, and we did the most difficult and scored the goal,
but in 10 minutes they scored two goals in our window.”
Regarding the dismissal of Sergio Ramos and his
absence in the return match, Zidane said: “Well this is
football, we cannot change it, and we have to stay with
positive matters, and usually there are no positive things
in such results, and we played a good match except for
the last 10 or 15 minutes. Now we have to go there and
win if we want to qualify. ”
Zaidan commented on what happened in the last 10
minutes, saying: “Nothing. These are mistakes and
mistakes pay for them, but they are part of football.”
The French coach, Zidane, continued his talk about the
players ’performance, saying:” We gave everything on
the field, but we missed the focus in the last 10 minutes,
it was a physical and equal match, and in the end we paid
the price. ”
Zidane concluded his speech on the reason for the
absence of Toni Kroos, and whether he suffers from a
physical problem, saying: “He does not suffer from
anything, and it was a technical decision.”
