Despite his 35th birthday, Portuguese soccer legend Cristiano
Ronaldo continues to do his best in his amazing challenge
of aging.
In order to maintain the peak of his fitness, the Italian Juventus
star resorted to a new trick to increase the speed of his launches,
which are the nails used by the “rugby” players in their shoes
from below.
The Italian sports newspaper “Tossosport”, which is issued from
Turin, the stronghold of Juventus, said that Ronaldo resorted to
these nails “because of their great ability to make the foot stick
to the grass.”
Rugby shoes contain more nails than soccer players, to help
them get off without a hitch.
The newspaper pointed to the former Spanish star Real Madrid
used plastic screws instead of the traditional metal, which
enhances his speed and response to change directions easily.
In his most recent photo during training with Juventus, Ronaldo
appears with a different shoe containing 11 nails.
She noted that the French striker, the French team of
Montpellier, and the Algerian team, Andy Delor, resorted to
this tactic earlier in the season, which increased its speed to 36.8
km per hour instead of 23 km, breaking the record in the
local league.
